ICAC legal status

The legal status of the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (hereafter the ICAC) is determined by the Russian Federation Law On International Commercial Arbitration, of July 7, 1993, and the Statute of the ICAC, which is appended to the Law as Annex 1. The Federal Law is based on the Model Law adopted by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in 1985 and approved by the UN General Assembly for possible use in national legislations.

The ICAC is an independent and permanent court of arbitration. It operates at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The CCI of Russia approves its Rules of Procedure, method of computation of arbitration fees and other court costs, and provides others assistance to the ICAC.
